Went to the Ulster Museum's last night and coloured in a dress to look like a bumblebee. I can fully recommend going to a museum and doing this

As a Sign Nerd, it's very nice to see that the Department for Infrastructure in Northern Ireland has gone with the Scottish model for bilingual traffic signs, and is using colour to differentiate languages. The initial mockups used italics (in the wrong typeface!) […] [Original post on tech.lgbt]

For completeness, here's the sign used in Germany (Austria's is similar). This one doesn't make as much sense to me, since it would suggest to me that motor vehicles (and horse drawn vehicles, I suppose) are banned rather than just deprioritised

Interestingly, Ireland already has a design using UK-style symbols (the same ones are used, more or less), but the UK didn't decide to go with this approach.

@yatil Google's approach to this (afaik using actual artists and some templating code rather than gen AI, surprisingly) gives much nicer result. That exact combo doesn't exist, but there's a great range of exasperated masked emoji-style stickers
