This entire article is stunning. It's not all about the taxes, but how regular Americans in Florida treat Canadians. It explains a lot about the Bluesky attitude, at least. www.cbc.ca/news/world/f...

Florida weighs ditching property taxes and sticking Canadians with the bill | CBC News

Florida voters are weighing whether to scrap residential property taxes and the state's governor has a solution to that potentially huge revenue loss: tax Canadians more.

People use sweater as a catchall, therefore it is a catchall, basically (But @eaterofash.bsky.social also tried to argue "[top half covering] outerwear" is "a top" as part of this argument so we just aren't giving her anything)

Night. The House of Chimes - a tower which you might immediately think of as Big Ben - is adrift in the River Thames. It still seems to be keeping time. In the background, a large, alien building looms over the city of London.

My girlfriend and I don't have many arguments but the perennial one is about the correct alignment on the following chart

The sweater alignment chart. Each alignment has an illustrative image.

Material Good/Construction Lawful: A knitted wool sweater is a sweater.
Material Neutral/Construction Lawful: A polyester sweater is a sweater.
Material Evil/Construction Lawful: A sweater made from human hair is a sweater.

Material Good/Construction Neutral: A woven wool tunic is a sweater.
Material Neutral/Construction Neutral: A macrame shirt is a sweater.
Material Evil/Construction Neutral: A garbage bag poncho is a sweater.

Material Good/Construction Chaotic: A sheep is a sweater.
Material Neutral/Construction Chaotic: Raw cotton is a sweater.
Material Evil/Construction Chaotic: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a sweater.

And they can fit in wherever and whenever during the day. None of this will fix burnout/MH issues, but for me it gives me a low-effort series of tasks that raise the floor of my lows, if that makes sense? It keeps the dips from dipping as far down, so you're in a better position to go upwards.

100 words a day (this works out to about 5-10min of effort) is one for me. If I add it all up (15 min yoga, 15 min movement, 20 min daily clean, 10 min of writing), it's an hour of effort that can be spread out, and honestly, I can dial back any one of them if I don't have the energy or time.

Some kind of movement. I hate walking/running (even though I do it) so my main exercise is pole dance classes, but some kind of movement you can manage even for 15 minutes is good. It doesn't even have to be "exercise", it can be rocking out to a playlist. I personally find it really hard to be

When I was at my worst mentally, I found this actually very helpful: youfeellikeshit.com/index.html A daily short yoga will not fix you, but it might help muscles feel less sore/tight. I like Yoga With Adriene on YT, and go with whatever length feels manageable.

I mostly watched movies at my dad's, and he is a big ol' sci-fi nerd, so the original Star Wars trilogy and any of the TOS or TNG Trek movies (my favorite of those was The Voyage Home). I also had the dub of the 1982 Toei Swan Lake movie, The Neverending Story, & Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland.
