The thing I will never understand is why women in leadership positions that have suffered at the hands of men will choose to uphold broken systems instead of creating something new. Survival strategies are not leadership. Scarcity & gate keeping are not it. Continuity over imagination is not it.

My heart breaks for Brown. 💔 One of my brightest RAs survived a shooting in HS. This trauma impacted college (+COVID)—this bright star has paid the cost in dreams & opportunities. We cannot expect them to thrive in this context & we are failing our future. We cannot afford to do nothing again.
