Where is the evidence that Trump actually wants to rebuild US manufacturing, and how is destroying solar power in the US going to achieve that? It’s stunning how media normalizes and whitewashes Trump‘s efforts to destroy the US.

Interesting choice by NYT to publish an op-ed bemoaning America’s projected population decline by a guy who’s massively racist against immigrants and compares IVF to “Nazi eugenics.” The “pronatalists” only want more of a very specific kind of person in this country. It gives the game away.
The Population Forecasts Are Grim. Theyre Still Too Optimistic.
By Lyman StoneIt's difficult to articulate the extent to which Somalian immigrants are a *unique* problem.
Other immigrant groups may not always have stellar outcomes, but there are almost none who as persistently have the absolute worst outcomes in every country they move to as Somalians.FWIW I think attacking IVF really is a massively losing political position, and I say that as someone with serious moral concerns around
IVF.
I think if you must attack IVF, you would argue against discarding embryos as a form of Nazi eugenics, not on the basis of personhood.

"executives with no understanding of the industry" seems to be an endemic problem across industries: higher education, medicine, you name it, a bunch of suits with MBAs and unearned arrogance are destroying everything around us, and for some reason, we're supposed to accept that they know best

Jared Polis is so completely full of shit. His commutation of Tina Peters' sentence has nothing to do with freedom of speech. What a joke. What an insult to the law-abiding citizens of Colorado. What an assault on free and fair elections. An embarrassing profile in cowardice.

Reminder that Florida voters passed a Constitutional amendment in 2010 banning gerrymandering with 62% of the vote and the Florida GOP just stole the courts and ignored it. By contrast retaliatory gerrymanders in CA and VA passed with the approval of voters. Yet media portrays them as equivalent.

Kennedy's goal here is consistent with all of his other policies aimed at undermining proven health interventions: he believes the people who benefit from them are defective and he wants them culled from the population. It's comic book villain logic, specifically Viltrumite logic.

Examples, please.* *And no, please don't bring up Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" comment from a decade ago, unless you discuss the whole speech in context.
I think the worst part of that is a kind of condescension or disconnect between these liberal elites and the common man, regular people.

If Republicans are really upset about gerrymandering, then they can join Dems in doing something to end it on both sides. Rep Jamie Raskin tells me he'd be "delighted" to work with Rs on future bills (epic trolling here): newrepublic.com/article/2093...

News accounts are straining to portray the Virginia move as a betrayal of Dems' principled opposition to gerrymandering. It's pure bullshit. Dems passed a 2021 bill ending it for *both sides.* The Dem position is that Trump/Rs don't get to play by their own rules: newrepublic.com/article/2093...

Since January 2023, the New York Times has cited Rep. Ralph Norman, R-SC, in 78 stories. None mentioned that Norman secretly urged the Trump White House in 2021 to declare martial law – in effect, a military-backed coup. Norman wasn’t charged, but the NYT gave him a “pardon” anyway. My newsletter.
