Listening to the Nolan Show this morning because clearly I'm a glutton for punishment. Just think it's really fascinating how differently Stephen & guests speak about trans people versus how they speak about Bailey the dog. That dog has been humanised more than the entire trans community.

Anyone who has transitioned privately will know that £15k, while a life-changing start, certainly won't be the end of the road. Certain gender affirming surgeries alone can cost upwards of that. If I think I might hit the target (which, honestly, I never thought I would) it might shift up a bit!

I decided to fundraise now, honestly, in the wake of the FWS judgment. Things are just getting so much worse, and it is getting harder to do public campaigning and advocacy on trans rights and as a trans woman. It takes a toll and, to be blunt, it would be easier if I wasn't also so dysphoric.

"To say that sex, assigned at birth, is equal to ‘biological sex’ sells short both social sex and the science of human biology. It also elides observation and assignment, equating the two. The difference between them is the nuance on which the idea of sex as a social construct is built.

This sex, assigned based on observed characteristics, is printed on the birth certificate and that administrative decision is then considered to be the person’s destiny for life.

Biology, as they say, is not destiny. Admin is.
