Summary:
Cities run on magic.

Ed and Izzy have been on the run for years. Not only is Izzy an illegal flesh-and-bone magical Construct, but they ran away from his creator; if discovered, Ed would face arrest, and Izzy would face either destruction or—even worse—being sent back.

But when they’re discovered by Ned Low, they’re given another option: cooperate with him, and he’ll arrange to have Izzy made legal. All they have to do is get into a magical researcher’s lab and steal something from him. It should be easy.

Except it’s not, because that researcher is Stede Bonnet.

Ouizzy pride and prejudice ch 6 is here! archiveofourown.org/works/831390...

“Even something for entertainment should serve a purpose.”

And dancing didn’t? It was necessary for socializing—unless you were an angry little man like Mr. Hands, apparently. Maybe he avoided dancing because he was shit at it.

Frenchie folded his arms across his chest. “And what is your preferred entertainment, then? It must be something truly special. Doing your accounting, maybe? Reading Fordyce’s sermons?”

Mr. Hands just glowered at him.

“It must be ridiculous if you won’t even say it.”

“It’s not ridiculous,” he finally said. “Swordplay.”

Frenchie goggled at him. “How is that a more useful skill than dancing?”

“You can’t defend yourself with a dance.”

“You’d be surprised,” Frenchie said dryly. “But regardless, it’s not like you carry a sword with you.”

“No, but—”

“If brigands came after us, you’d be as useless as me.”

It was a funny thought to imagine brigands storming the gardens of Netherfield Park. Frenchie personally thought he could make a good showing of defending himself, but skill with a sword wouldn’t make any difference.

“We’d hardly be the same,” Mr. Hands said. “Even without a weapon, swordplay teaches you how to move, how to react, and how to read your opponent.”

“So does dancing, unless you like your toes being all stomped on.”

Mr. Hands' eyebrows drew together, and Frenchie resisted the urge to smile. He might have won a point with that one.

Title: my courage always rises, by Aletea

Summary: A Ouizzy Pride & Prejudice AU

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an unmated alpha in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of an omega, but no one ever stopped to consider whether an unmated omega must in turn be in want of an alpha.

Frenchie is grateful for the position granted to him at Bonnet House. He’s found security and friendship, which are hard to find as an unmarried omega with no family. He wants to keep Bonnet House safe, but that safety is threatened when Stede falls for Edward Teach, a self-made alpha new to the neighborhood. He brings his friend Izzy Hands along with him, who Frenchie finds to be the most aggravating man he has ever met.
