🌱 1/3: Recap before 2 new #sUnderfoot papers 🔔 last year we proposed six Belowground Persistence Types (BPTs) to predict disturbance responses, led by @jitkaklimesova.bsky.social 💐 @cp-trendsplantsci.bsky.social www.cell.com/trends/plant...
Dichotomous key for determination of belowground persistence types is based on three hierarchical questions: Is the plant woody? Is the plant clonal? Is the plant a resprouter?

What happens when you have a prescribed fire at the end of the dry season, fire of high severity with T>700ºC? The Cerrado blooms! 45 days post-fire and a high proportion of the spp flowering and fruiting. Isn’t that amazing? #Cerrado #FireEcology @leveg.bsky.social @programabiota.bsky.social

The Cerrado is really amazing! Post-fire flowering is one of the most interesting and beautiful fire response! It is not a response of a specific species or family! Bulbostylis paradoxa never fails and can be seen flowering already 18 hs after fire! @leveg.bsky.social @programabiota.bsky.social
