I'm proud to have supported the Bellwether, an office-to-residential conversion in the heart of the Loop that added 117 new homes & restored the building's iconic weather bell! 🔔 www.chicagotribune.com/2026/09/25/w...

Once dormant, the Loop’s weather bell is aglow once again
The Rector Building in the Loop is being converted to a residential building, and as part of the project, the iconic weather bell on the corner of Clark and Monroe streets has been restored.

Since 1966, the 100 Club of Illinois has provided training, financial assistance, and support to first responders and their families throughout Illinois. I’m proud to support their work as they celebrate 60 years of service to the brave Chicagoans who keep our communities safe.

At yesterday’s Council meeting, I was proud to honor Donna Weems, who retired after leading the Renaissance Court Senior Center in the 34th Ward. Under Donna’s leadership, Renaissance Court grew into a place where seniors can gather, create, learn, & celebrate each other.

It’s disappointing that my colleagues are trying to bury this in committee, but I’m going to keep standing up for this commonsense path to tackle this problem immediately. We can’t risk delays while data centers keep building, polluting, & spiking utility bills.

Alderman Bill Conway @aldconway.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Data centers spike utility bills, pollute our air, & drain our clean water. Mayor Johnson created a blue ribbon committee. I’m taking action with an ordinance to immediately require community oversight, add environmental enforcement, & ban some data centers altogether.

ALS impacts thousands of Americans and their loved ones, including myself: my stepmother passed away from ALS a couple of years ago. I’m proud to support A Long Swim and Chicago River Swim as they raise awareness and funding for ALS research.

Florence Scala spent her life fighting to ensure that working class neighbors in Little Italy had a voice in its future. Yesterday, I proudly joined neighbors to unveil a plaque celebrating her legacy at her former home on Taylor St.

Every dollar we have to put towards debt service is a dollar we can’t spend on police, parks, potholes, or other basic city services. I was proud to support Ald. Quinn’s ordinance requiring approval by 60% of Council to take on any new borrowing.
