Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 20hWe're just one step closer to getting the PS3 port of Skyrim vibe-coded to PC at this point. Does it make sense? Absolutely not, but it *will* happen. Calling it now. 010

Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 22hI say with hindsight: The Wii U was a step in the wrong direction in multiple aspects, from the controller to the confusing name to the marketing. Anecdotally, I've met experienced gamers IRL who didn't know it existed. Almost like to them, Nintendo quietly disappeared between the Wii and Switch. 000
Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 22hFor as often as it's assumed nowadays that anything Nintendo puts out will sell at least moderately well regardless of quality, that was not the sentiment back then. Source: I was there. Some people really did think Nintendo were so stubborn that they learned nothing from the Wii U's failure. 100

Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It'll never not be crazy to me how much DLC these games had while the 3DS eShop was still up. Yes, especially with Fates locking the other two story paths behind paywalls, the third of which being only obtainable now through an expensive collector's edition. No, I'm not kidding. 000

Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I won't pretend to know the fate of any of the existing third party fighters, given the only real precedent we have is Sonic's return and Snake's absence in Smash 4, but I already know at least some of those cuts would sting for many. Castlevania alone even brought a ton of content with it. 000
Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Some characters' absences would leave a void in the roster. The likes of Captain Falcon and Ness (or Lucas) are too iconic to Smash to leave. It'd be pretty weird for Pit to stay but not the Zelda to his Link, Palutena. I'm no Pokemon expert, but one could advocate for Greninja or Incineroar. 100
Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 06/10/2026People have also discussed drastic cuts, and sure, there's some fat to trim (e.g. 3 Links), but someone's favorite would inevitably get the axe. Compared to most fighters, which tend to rebuild everything from the ground up, previous Smash entries have had minimal cuts. But Ultimate is massive. 100
Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I absolutely expect a new Smash Bros. to happen eventually, but realistically, they're not topping this roster. Even if we get Ultimate Switch 2 Edition with everyone intact plus some newcomers, you can't please everyone. 100

Alcarde @alcarde.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I think Konami should grab their oak stake and take another stab at a Castlevania fighter. Judgment wasn't the best, but I feel there's still potential for a whipping good time to sink our teeth into.
