Been thinking about how true this is. I'd never read The Dark Tower and call it a franchise, I'd call it a series. A series is art I partake in, a franchise is Applebees. We need to rewire our brains to talk about the Final Fantasy *series*, the Dragon Quest *series*, the Last of Us *franchise*.

Hard Boiled remains one of, if not THE finest action film ever made. It’s been years since I last saw it, and in that time I have become complacent—accepting mediocrity in place of genuine greatness—but the 4k theatrical release brought it all back with Chow Yun-fat’s opening clarinet solo.
