Mochi practicing her monster faces for spooky season at the groomer today. Unfortunately a 0/10 on the haunt-o-meter; just too darned cute to be scary. The painted nails don’t help. Try again next year, Moch. Also look how grown up & gorgeous my girl looks 🥹 Almost all signs of puppy are gone now.

Spaghetti with potatoes and hard boiled eggs in it. Recipe taught to us by an Italian immigrant (my god grandmother?) and one of only like three dishes my mother ever actually cooked while I was growing up. I can’t eat spaghetti any other way.

Took the puppy on her first hike today while @cortijon.bsky.social was mountain biking in the same park. She rated the experience 6.5/10, wasn’t really sure what the point was. I’ll try her again next week with a dog who actually enjoys it so maybe she’ll consider that it’s supposed to be…fun?

Ever since TikTok bullied NYX into taking half the pigment out of their blushes & bronzers, I do not trust makeup product reformulations. Bc what do you MEAN Revlon ColorStay lip liners no longer have the texture of cold modeling clay? Creamy new formula goes on nice and smooth, but I’m suspicious.

In happier horse news, my daughter backed her filly for the first time over the weekend and took a few steps on her today. Two months ago, this horse had never been touched by a human and this is the first time Maddie’s ever started a colt from scratch, so I’m vv proud 🥲

Today is The Day 💔 for my 22 yo retired show horse, Aesop. He’s got pulmonary fibrosis that’s stopped responding to treatment. I owned him for the vast majority of his life & my daughter grew up with him. He’s gonna get all his favorite foods, including soft peppermints, Bit O’Honeys & cornbread.

Idk why it bothers people SO BADLY that some of us have publicly marveled at the fact the song is that statistically popular and we’ve simply never heard it. That’s not a wannabe-own or a hot take or a moral superiority thing. It’s simply… interesting and I’m not sure why we can’t say that out loud.
