This isn't to do with money, this is to do with accepting the expert recommendations re covid vaccination. Remember that it's the same experts who recommended 3 doses in 2021/22 that no longer recommend booster vaccines for healthy adults under 65. I trusted ATAGI back then and I trust them now.

This morning’s magnitude 4.8 earthquake is the largest in Victoria for 3 years. The epicentre was near Korumburra. It’s the largest on record in the area. In 2009 a magnitude 4.7 & 4.6 occurred within a 2 week period at the same place. Dozens of aftershocks have occurred, the largest so far at M3.2

Or a gov could just build a big pumped hydro plant on their own balance sheet, like how most hydro assets got built historically, and how Snowy 2 here in Oz is now getting built? I don't think there's market depth for auctions for 50hr+ duration assets at this stage..

Why do you think there needs to be separate markets for long duration storage? The example linked is 8hrs+ which is hardly seasonal shifting.. And stating that without markets projects don't get built ignores that the vast majority of hydro assets were built by and/or for government.
