Reposted by A.J. PetixKJ Charles @kjcharleswriter.com · 18/05/2026I am once again begging, praying, weeping for lists of written instructions rather than videos. I do not want to watch your two minute video in the hope of catching the two seconds where you whizz past what goddamn menu the thing is under. Write. It. Down. 165108182618
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 30/09/2026I also think this might be the first game I've played where DLSS felt... good? Like I don't have ridiculous input latency and the animation doesn't seem very compromised while couch gaming at 4K. I also recognize I'm incredibly privileged to have the PC spec I do. A 9800X3D and RTX 5080 go wowzers. 001
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 30/09/2026I hate when my PC's BIOS just decides to factory reset itself on random occasion. It's amazing how much better modern games run when I re-enable EXPO and 3D V-cache. 🙃 Anyway, Control Resonant is still great. Even better now that I'm getting a more stable 120FPS, despite some being AI frames. 120
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 29/09/2026I read the negative Steam reviews for you. They're honestly very funny. Almost all were either due to minor soft locks that clear up after a restart or gamers wishing it was more skate, less story. But 97% positive reviews on an indie game is a pretty clear sign, Sam. You made a masterpiece. 110
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 29/09/2026And I think this has some GTA-level mockery of American culture, which I have always loved. Props to Finnish developer Remedy for doing such a great, subtle job making fun of us yanks! 010
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 29/09/2026I was not prepared for the depressing lore of Control Resonant. Another series of AWEs and OOPs ruining the lives of curious humans who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. :c This game is great so far, by the way. After the first Control was primarily long-range battles, short-range is fun! 150
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 28/09/2026From a previous career of waiting tables I actually have a couple of reasonable answers for this! - Restaurants have limited dishes, so the sooner they're taken, the sooner they can be used to serve other guests. - Many guests prefer less clutter at a table, especially if a dish is empty. 110
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 26/09/2026Metronet by T-Mobile wasn’t the first company I had in mind for fiber internet at my house but I have a letter coming in the mail saying it’s coming to our neighborhood soon so I guess this is how I finally free myself from coaxial hell. 010
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 26/09/2026The beginning of Control Resonant is great, but holy moly I’m already so lost in the open world section and I’m still in what I’d call the “great plateau” part of the map. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026It's been shameless from the start, but you really are building on what made Arc so great with even more to be excited about. I'm so glad the Zen developer community has taken the baton from TBC on this! 010

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026Are we advocating for minimum size requirements in the fine print? Asking because my Miata barely fits in mine and that feels criminally small. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026...I do not think I can make an early bird commitment but hot damn does this sound like a blast. 010
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026Just cancelled my free trial within an hour of signing up. If I only used my phone and nothing else I'd probably stick it out for a few more days, but the bad desktop UI that doesn't sync my iCloud calendar after setting it up on my phone is enough to make this less useful than Apple's calendar app. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026Trying out a new task app (Tiimo) and so far I'm not... totally in love with it. We'll see if messing around with it more will change my mind, but the UI is a bit confusing to me. It's somewhere between a calendar and simplified time-of-day division. Plus a separate tasks section. Hm. 100
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 25/09/2026Okay fine, I'll partake in the trend. #my9games I tried representing as much of my taste in games as possible. Older, newer, faster, slower... but these all had a huge impact on my life and tastes in other games. The only genre really missing is co-op multiplayer, but at least there's RL and Kirby. 010
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 24/09/2026Car is dirty and paint is a little scuffed (I'll detail & paint correct after the engine is reinstalled) but holy shit these are basically the same color. 001

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 23/09/2026My wife bought me the Japanese Ace Attorney Trilogy which comes with all three games included on the cart and automatically translated to my Switch’s language upon first launch! Not sure if you can do the same thing for Chronicles. 120
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 22/09/2026After clicking around a bit, I think I'm finally getting to a point where I would sell my UGREEN NAS and just run this OS on an x64 based PC if computer hardware pricing wasn't batshit insane. Maybe in 3 or 4 years we'll see RAM and NAND prices finally drop so I can do that. 100

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 22/09/2026People sure are driving like gas isn't $5 a gallon right now. I drive a hybrid and I was still hypermiling all weekend. Meanwhile I saw tons of people still speeding and weaving between lanes in pickup trucks and full-size SUVs. 010
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 21/09/2026I do not buy figurines or collectibles for anything, but I would buy this. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 21/09/2026It’s pretty great this year. There was a performance piece I wanted to capture to remember but I just couldn’t bring myself to use my camera to capture them. They sat in silence on a bench to encourage being present in the moment and… well… a photo would break my presence. I loved it. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 21/09/2026Kind of frustrated that iOS doesn’t have a native way to easily convert Live Photos into GIFs in 2026, but here we are. Emailed this to myself to convert it. Rain at Frederick Meijer Gardens yesterday made for some incredible photos of the Chihuly installations in the Japanese garden area. 030
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 20/09/2026Pretty damn close. Can’t wait to put them next to each other and do a comparison without considering different white balances. 101

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 16/09/2026At least your 11 Pro still gets the latest security updates. I don't think I could ever use a device that can't be patched at this point. I know too many horror stories. 110
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 16/09/2026“They” being Apple? I assume that carriers will have better trade-in offerings for phones that old. 100
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 16/09/2026Well... most channels that make money are definitely companies at this point but I think the vast majority of YouTube content goes unpaid and that's the real problem, IMO. YouTube's rules get more and more strict as they reduce creator payouts and pay fewer of them. That, I agree, is a shame. 000
A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 16/09/2026I really enjoy his reviews. They're *not* the only ones I watch, but I really enjoy the production quality and his take on why companies make the decisions they do. 100

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 16/09/2026It’s been almost exactly a year since I last weighed myself, but I’m down 10lbs since then! Slowly inching my way back towards a reasonable weight (and hopefully fitting back into all of my pants—honestly the pants thing is much more important to me). 020
