I am once again begging, praying, weeping for lists of written instructions rather than videos. I do not want to watch your two minute video in the hope of catching the two seconds where you whizz past what goddamn menu the thing is under. Write. It. Down.

I hate when my PC's BIOS just decides to factory reset itself on random occasion. It's amazing how much better modern games run when I re-enable EXPO and 3D V-cache. 🙃 Anyway, Control Resonant is still great. Even better now that I'm getting a more stable 120FPS, despite some being AI frames.

I was not prepared for the depressing lore of Control Resonant. Another series of AWEs and OOPs ruining the lives of curious humans who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. :c This game is great so far, by the way. After the first Control was primarily long-range battles, short-range is fun!

Metronet by T-Mobile wasn’t the first company I had in mind for fiber internet at my house but I have a letter coming in the mail saying it’s coming to our neighborhood soon so I guess this is how I finally free myself from coaxial hell.

The beginning of Control Resonant is great, but holy moly I’m already so lost in the open world section and I’m still in what I’d call the “great plateau” part of the map.

Trying out a new task app (Tiimo) and so far I'm not... totally in love with it. We'll see if messing around with it more will change my mind, but the UI is a bit confusing to me. It's somewhere between a calendar and simplified time-of-day division. Plus a separate tasks section. Hm.

Okay fine, I'll partake in the trend. #my9games I tried representing as much of my taste in games as possible. Older, newer, faster, slower... but these all had a huge impact on my life and tastes in other games. The only genre really missing is co-op multiplayer, but at least there's RL and Kirby.

People sure are driving like gas isn't $5 a gallon right now. I drive a hybrid and I was still hypermiling all weekend. Meanwhile I saw tons of people still speeding and weaving between lanes in pickup trucks and full-size SUVs.

Kind of frustrated that iOS doesn’t have a native way to easily convert Live Photos into GIFs in 2026, but here we are. Emailed this to myself to convert it. Rain at Frederick Meijer Gardens yesterday made for some incredible photos of the Chihuly installations in the Japanese garden area.

It’s been almost exactly a year since I last weighed myself, but I’m down 10lbs since then! Slowly inching my way back towards a reasonable weight (and hopefully fitting back into all of my pants—honestly the pants thing is much more important to me).

If I get a bonus next year at work maybe I'll use it to buy a Steam Frame. Sounds fun and I could maybe, finally play Half-Life Alyx! The battery life seems bad but everything else about it honestly sounds like an amazing upgrade over my OG PSVR.

Nine dollars for hours of some of the most creative television I've seen in decades feels like theft. I will continue to encourage everyone to buy this. It's so worth it.

I wonder if this will be another thing that Visible just includes with their top paid plan. That would be dope to be able to switch between my Pro iPhone and my 13 Mini when I want to carry something smaller for no extra cost. But $60/yr for the privilege also isn't THAT bad...

I wonder how this color compares in-person to the marketing images and videos. I'm hoping it looks less brown and more wine red, but I might have hoped a bit too much that this would match my Miata and it just doesn't.

iPhone Duo is more interesting than I expected it to be. I really love the redesigned iOS just for easy one-handed use on Duo... now why don't they do that on all other iPhones? The back button has been out of reach in the top left of the display since iPhone 6!

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 09/09/2026

It's very funny to me that companies like Dbrand and Xiaomi are making dark cherry products in response to the new iPhone color rumors (and I suppose probably for them legitimate info from Apple or supply chain leaks). I love this color so much. Just beautiful.

Big day for tech and game enthusiasts. Nintendo Direct, Playdate Season 3 announcement, and an Apple keynote. Gonna be a lot of exciting news to consume!

000

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 08/09/2026

I was reminded from the Zelda direct that my wife got me this as a Christmas gift last year. I didn't install it right away because I wanted to wait until the warranty expired before I cracked open the hardware. Now that I'm a few months beyond the 1yr warranty expiration I'm ready to mod!

A.J. Petix @ajpetix.com · 04/09/2026

FlyinMiata is gonna make so much money off me this winter. Easily the most expensive part of this project is the mods from them. The rest of this engine rebuild is less than the clutch kit and coolant reroute kit from them.

Watched the new Until Dawn 2 trailer. ...I don't want to support Sony and there are red flags all over this trailer indicating I probably won't like the ending. But I love that Blackwood is acknowledged and it'll probably itch at me to play at some point. I'll have to buy a physical copy.
