NF affects 1 in every 2000 people worldwide. About half of these people inherited NF from a parent. The other half are each the first person with NF in their family. In these cases, a new mutation occured in the sperm or egg that they developed from, or in the very earliest stages of embryo growth.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) disorders cause tumors to form on nerves. The effects vary greatly, depending on which organs or systems they impact. The number of tumors typically increases over time. Because they grow on nerves, surgery can be very risky, and they grow back more aggressively after surgery.

The Ides of March denarius, issued by Marcus Junius Brutus, is one of the most famous and historic coins ever minted. It commemorates the assassination of Julius Caesar on March 15, 44 BCE, an event that later inspired many works of art, literature, opera, and film. Caesar had declared himself "perpetual dictator" at the beginning of that year, thereby directly prompting the assassination plot by Brutus and a group of other senators who feared for the survival of the Republic under his tyrannical rule. The reverse of the coin shown here not only bears the inscription naming the day of the murder but also depicts two daggers representing the weapons used to stab Caesar to death, as well as a cap usually worn by slaves who had earned their freedom, symbolizing here the liberation of Rome.

Germs are constantly mutating to try to outpace our immune systems. It's basic biology. If we miss doses of an infection-fighting drug, the most drug-resistant versions of the virus (or bacteria) will quickly replicate themselves & create an infection that the drug won't be as effective at fighting.

Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps. The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years. History is repeating. Pay attention.

My dad, a Lutheran minister, held this same view. He often spoke of how the "prosperity gospel" ideology, whereby people justify both their own success and other people's suffering as "the will of God," is in direct contrast to the message of Jesus and, thus, is heretical and anti-Christian. 1/2
