Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 17hLet's be honest...its affectation. All burgers are "smashed." I make my own burgers sometimes, I take a ball of mince and squash into a burger and put it in the pan. Doing it in the pan is merely performative. 120

Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Does anyone know who it was that introduced the brioche burger bun, serving chips in mini-frying baskets and swapping plates for singed platters of wood? So I can go back in time and “prevent” it happening. 12512

Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Are there still concerns about which native forest they are getting their wood from? I know a few years ago when I visited British Columbia people were angry about Drax taking wood from environmentally important forests. 100

Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 06/10/2026This is true; you have to work quite hard to persuade them that bullet points will score marks. I've heard examiners say that it is possible to get full marks with bullet points. 121
Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I'm off to count mine now...... though I do wonder if my collection of dog eared paperbacks, education books and science textbooks at all stages, are perhaps not what they mean by a "private library" 001
Alastair Gittner @agittner.bsky.social · 06/10/2026It's exactly the same in science. The information from AQA for science tells a similar story.
