Military jets just did a flyover to kick-off my 5yo’s soccer game. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that the Seahawks kicked off at the same time.

With two Zach Cregger movies in one day, I may have unintentionally started a Halloween-a-thon. I’ve seen about 25% of these horror movies that are on my list to see. boxd.it/iUHv2

I haven’t seen Weapons yet, but just got out of Resident Evil. Zach Cregger sure knows how to slowly ramp up a movie to wild levels. He also seems to have a very *particular* taste in how to end a movie.

Seattle's map of paid parking areas is actually wild. The blocks of the city outside downtown where the curb is actually priced are essentially microscopic.

My 3 month movie pass was up a few days ago, and here’s how I did: 13 - Movies seen (being sick for a few weeks put a big dent in this) $6.78 - Cost per movie, all-up. 7.5 - “Free” movies seen, if we count each movie at $16

I’ve been sick with the flu for the last week, and plowed my way through the first 50 issues of Invincible. Fun, fast read. And I was right about it being a complete, unified super-hero world on its own, similar to Savage Dragon.

Somehow I thought The Northman was some standard mid-quality historical drama/romance, and didn’t realize it was Robert Eggers. Watching it now and holy moley is it ever Robert Eggers.

I’ve never seen Shawshank Redemption. I started it today but didn’t finish yet. Besides the parts that obviously aren’t, it’s a surprisingly relaxing movie. Between Tim Robbin’s character’s demeanor and Morgan Freeman’s voice, it’s quite cozy.

I was shocked (though I shouldn't have been) to learn, upon listening to Tuesday's public safety committee meeting today, that SPD chief Sayles explicitly said former chief Barnes delayed the Bite of Seattle press conference to be briefed, given that every headline said it was Mayor Wilson.

One of my favorite cases of someone being Wrong on the Internet was a very earnest, very confused vegan who was telling people how cruel honey is; and it eventually turned out they thought honey was made by putting bees in a centrifuge and spinning them around until they threw up.

When a game studio ships a solid game, it creates TWO valuable products: 1. A solid game. 2. The team that spent years learning how to work together make a game. Because Western studios keep disbanding #2 while development cycles get longer; we will inevitably see less of #1.

the thing abt proud gay diversity liberal getting into a lather abt universal free school meals is that it's easily paid for with HALF the graffiti abatement team budget (which Harrell raised 36% on his way out). We're spending $6.1 MILLI on them & i dunno, do you see any less graffiti around town?

I’m surprised I can’t find exactly this: An AR app for Quest that you can scan a section of your house, then do renovation changes (moved walls, added doors) and see it live in your own space. Imagine being able to walk around your own home and see what it would be like with layout design changes.

Between the Meydenbaur staff making my family move when we found a quiet corner to have a snack in, and the Breyburn not accepting my paid for parking pass, and the Waymo cutting across two lanes of highway to take a last second exit, I’m even more glad I don’t have to deal with Bellevue often.
