The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026 is Navi Pillay, a brave extraordinary woman who has served at the International Criminal Court prosecuting genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Immediately after being notified she had won, she mocked the orange felon on video. Love her. 💙👊

Isn’t it oxymoronic to, on one hand, say certain books must be banned because too graphic/violent for students - but on the other hand decide to televise firing squad execution on live tv where said students can watch and be traumatized?

Now reading & enjoying Nicholas Boggs's massive Baldwin: A Love Story, which tells James Baldwin's life story through his intimate relationships with four men. In an interview, Baldwin said about Giovanni's Room, "If I hadn't written that book, I probably would have had to stop writing altogether."
Nicholas Boggs's biography of James Baldwin from an angle that shows how fat the book is, as well as the book's title, author, & publisher (FSG) along the spine. The front of the dust jacket is a close-up photo of Baldwin by David Gahr with a white background and no text at all. Next to the biography, but blurry, is a small mass-market edition of Baldwin's novel Giovanni's Room.

One more example of how a personalist regime they cannot conceive of a bipartisan institution to the point they would prefer to destroy it if they cannot repurpose it to their ends. See, also, much of the rest of the federal government, our military, science, higher education etc.

Apropos of nothing, sharing this little except from Prince’s memoir, “The Beauiful Ones”: “…they keep trying to ram […] Ed Sheeran down our throats and we don't like it no matter how many times they play it.”
about competition, how can we outsell. Monkeys and primates could sell music. With Clear Channel [a radio and media conglomerate, since rebranded as iHeart-Media] it becomes like Soylent Green-people feeding people to people. We need to tell them that they keep trying to ram Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran down our throats and we don't like it no matter how many times they play it.

Pause to honor those lives, and the lives of veterans sent out to fight and die because we are dishonest, because we did not have the sense or strength to be thoughtful in our grief. #No2WAR
