Last month, I recorded myself reading one of the poems, a glosa, for @alllitupcanada.bsky.social and writing a bit about form and style www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uTY...
screenshot of a website that reads:

Nightnursing is in part about how some things that are said to save our lives also produce new exposure to death. The book is divided into two parts: (Ante)Recovery and (Anti)Recovery. “Ferventory of Letters” is from the first part, the presumed before, and it both thematizes and formalizes a relentless pursuit of historical, political, and familial knowledge that keeps difficult feelings at bay. It is a glosa, which is poetic form from medieval Spain that appropriates or glosses lines from another poem.  Here, I reuse the last four lines from Jamaican poet Roger Mais’s poem, “All Men Come to the Hills,” which also serves as the epigraph—the cabeza or head.

@tianareid.bsky.social expands the boundaries of language to resist conventional narratives of care & healing in her debut poetry collection, NIGHTNURSING (@gooselane.bsky.social). Watch Tiana read a poem from the book at: alllitup.ca/poetry-in-mo...
The cover of NIGHTNURSING by Tiana Reid against a background of transparent geographic shapes in a fuscia colour of pink to match the cover. At the top of the cover is an orange-toned triangle shape reaching down to the centre of the page. The author's name reads to the right of the triangle's point in yellow. Underneath the author name in a bold, white, serif font is the book title broken up and left-aligned to read: NIGHT - NURS - ING.

I'm pretty sick over the death of Jason Arday. From Charles Henry Rowell's 2004 interview with Fred Moten: "'Words don't go there,' as Charles Lloyd is reported to have said when he was ask to comment on one of his musical compositions." Words can't go there. Won't.

In the wake of Arday's death, Nathan Cofnas (who led the X mob against him) states his motivation. Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.
