I'm almost done with all the perfects in Rhythm Heaven Groove so I made a tier list! Overall this is my second favorite of the series, it has probably the best overall collection of games and music. If the remixes were as good as the old games it'd probably be my favorite.

In mid-2025 Alex Spencer did an incredible preview of Big Walk for Edge, doomed to print purgatory. Been thinking about this vignette of Jake's hand-placing rocks ever since. As the slop wave intensifies, it's just a beautiful depiction of a game made by people who care (and have the time to care).

For the tour's conclusion, we've all gathered
at the central mountain's summit, arriving just as
the sun peeks over the horizon and bathes the
world in pink, syrupy light. Disseldorp is fiddling
with a handheld radio, seeking the perfect station
to complete the mood, while the rest of us pass
around a pair of binoculars and Strasser describes
placing every single rock on the island by hand,
working his way around clockwise. He points out
the areas already done, with an outstretched arm.
"I've gotten to the edge of this valley," he says.
"That's my big job, between now and release."

In Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, green trampolines make Mario jump so high he goes offscreen for 6 seconds. By extracting his position values from the code, we can "zoom out" the stage and visualize his actual arc, which reveals just how absurdly high the jump is.
