I was in college at the time; I was also a prideful shithead Christian conservative, but even I saw the "Power of Pride" bumper stickers as a step awry. I realized on some level that the US response to 9/11 was going to be to lean in to the whole "Great Satan" thing, and I wanted no part of it.
