Hitting the road with Mags for a rip through the back roads to show her the madness brought on by a little yellow tree. We have other plans but will pass the cirque circus later today.

I finally got my site updated after a year of not doing it and then somehow password protected it. It's properly open now and with almost 250 new images. Although you might recognize a lot of them. I'd love it if you had a look around! www.churchstreetimages.com

Today is weird. Massive billboard paid by the AB government going on about a sovereign province within a united country. Old convoy coots still waving their Alberta flags and people lined up for blocks for cheaper Costco gas. Not enough caffeine in me to be around people today.

Not surprised at all! Clearly I wasn’t paying attention because I didn’t know anything about this $100 thing, but I also don’t have any interest in jumping through hoops navigating some broken system and giving those idiots my banking information.

These are my latest one-of-a-kind raku pieces. No one’s buying right now, and I understand - art isn’t always the priority in difficult times. But I’m still making, and sharing a little beauty feels worthwhile. A like or share might help these pieces find their people. 🙏

Gently illuminated by the evening light, is a mostly white butterfly. Nectaring upon a vibrant yellow Cowpen Daisy, a common wildflower if desert rains have been decent. Background is a soft blend of garden greenery, and the gentle sunlight… A few days ago.

This black-and-white, close-up photograph captures the textured spadix and surrounding leaf of a peace lily. The central focus is a vertical, cone-like structure covered in small, bumpy nodules. The sharp contrast highlights every individual texture, giving it a bumpy, pebbled appearance. In the lower right corner, a broad leaf gently curves upward, framing the spadix. The background features a soft, blurry mix of dark and light botanical shapes.

A Cabbage White butterfly rests with its delicate white wings spread wide on a bright yellow wildflower. Its pale wings are marked with small dark spots, while slender green stems and scattered yellow and pink wildflowers fill the meadow around it. A bee can also be seen foraging among the flowers below, adding to this lovely snapshot of summer meadow life.

I see some landlords are charging $25/day late & they don’t have any option but to borrow money to pay from Family or be evicted. In the very city the UCP “affordability” & “reduction of red tape” minister resides. Then there’s the fear of audit & explaining where the $ came from. Stressful as hell!
