That said, longer term I'd like to see standardization on: - Simple, general-purpose off-the-shelf sync engine and storage. (Equivalent of SQLite or Postgres) - Identity and authentication (I've been doing Tailscale and passkeys)

Good Q! IMO we not be at the point for standardization. Patterns and frameworks get extracted from common practices after doing a similar thing dozens or hundreds of times. With capabilities changing so fast I've found it useful to go bespoke on every new personal app and see what works.
