I don’t actually think Dems should feel like they have to answer these attacks at all. Rs and Trump are in the toilet with the public. They’ve tanked the economy and launched an unpopular war. But I continue to think Beshear has nailed the answer here: www.advocate.com/politics/sta...

The problem with this framing is that they always define “right to exist” as “right to prioritize maintaining a Jewish voting majority above enfranchising everyone who lives in the governed territories.” Which gets you precisely into the policies in question.
from the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue: “I’ll debate Israel’s laws, its leaders, its policies. But I won’t debate whether it has the right to exist. That’s a stupid debate.”

We’re probably one week away from “Israel forced Zelenskyy to provoke the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
From Cenk Uygur: “Israel had Zelensky attack an Iranian ship to try to merge Iran and Ukranian wars. In that scenario, we’d be at war with Russia. So, yes, Israel is definitely pulling the strings on this, too. And as usual, it has a disastrous plan. They won’t be satisfied until they cause WWIII.”

Good call with Zelenskyy today. Fully supported his call for a ceasefire that would protect global food supplies and energy infrastructure in ukraine and Russia. The war has entered a new, grimmer phase. Russia is stalling on the battlefield and striking civilians far behind the front lines.

People are discussing how Halloween candy is so terrible these days. A reminder that alot of the candy we eat is made with women’s prison labor. Russell Stover’s factory in Kansas busses in 150 women a day via a convict leasing program to staff their candy factory.
Russell Stover has begun using prison labor to make candy in
Kansas
A Russell Stover candy factory in Kansas has begun hiring incarcerated workers through a work release program, Eoin Higgins reports in his newsletter, The Flashpoint. About 150 women are bussed in from the Topeka Correctional Facility and paid $14 an hour, but the prison keeps some of their wages for room and board, taxes, transportation, and other expenses. When all is said and done, they take home less than $6 per hour. These deductions are high, but elsewhere in the country, they're even higher: In our May series on prison
