I found “the $30k isn’t life changing thread” and I’m thinking shutting down economics isn’t enough: we need to burn the whole field to the ground, salt the fucking earth, and erect warning placards so that future generations avoid the poisoned ground the field stood on.

Asking for a friend: is there a Clubhouse alternative in the Atmosphere? You know, an audio platform for live, participatory discussions? I couldn’t find anything... I love the concept of @stream.place but I’m thinking audio only. My “friend” could surely make great use of it these days 🤭

I just met with a landscaper, we're having our front yard redone. One of the most interesting bits was his extensive use of Gemini Nano Banana to show us proposed pictures of the work. The way he generated them surprised me a bit.

A rework of the bsky UI. Multipart comments are concatenated into one, and comment trees are fully shown. It is also supposed to reduce the empty space a bit, but this is only a first pass.

A physical model of a protoplanetary disk and how disks create shadows
Ever since I did read how shadows are produced by protoplanetary disks in Pontoppidan & Dullemond 2005, I had the idea of creating a real world phycial model of a protoplanetary disk to “…

hear me out — not a new VCS or merge queue an inter-agent messaging system that connects agents that should be talking, and have them clear all merge obstacles and errors before it even enters a merge queue
Infographic titled "Nearness and parallel work" detailing a 3-step process for agent coordination:
Step 1: Identify each agent's active changes
Compares two agents (Agent A and Agent B) showing icons for base commit, changed file, and changed function. Net changes are tracked since base commit plus dirty edits and new files, mapping changed lines to files and functions.
Step 2: Estimate interaction risk
Lists four risk categories:
 * Edit overlap: Changes touch the same code.
 * Dependency impact: One change alters a contract another relies on.
 * Historical coupling: Files change together more often than chance.
 * CI evidence: Past combined changes failed; repairs reveal why.
A summary box defines "Nearness = estimated need for coordination" by weighting evidence by confidence and recency.
Step 3: Coordinate only where needed
Shows diagrammed workflows for pairs of agents:
 * Negotiate: Agent pairs A-B and C-D have active communication links.
 * Independent: Agent pairs E-F and G-H work independently in separate lanes.
Explanatory text notes to connect agents whose changes are likely to interact, while independent work adds parallel lanes without joining a global queue, recalculated as edits, negotiations, and CI results change.

I guess columnists will have a lot to write about as they clutch their metaphorical pearls. (Definitely NOT laudatory) I wish we could just tell them "let's pretend you did all your normal performative bollocks, it caused much discourse, and let's just move on with our lives"

Remembering Gwyneth Bebb today. She passed Oxford law finals with first class marks in 1913, but was refused a degree. The CA rejected her claim to become a solicitor, saying only men were "persons" within the legislation. In 1920 she finally became a Bar student. But died in childbirth in 1921.
Screenshot of a Facebook post recording the fact that on this day in 1920, women were awarded Oxford degrees for the first time. Image of graduating women.

How many more generations will be denied Black queer history before we take action?
When we understand that our history is diverse, it changes our outlook. I hope that this Black History Month, we all take the time to uncover the history lessons we were denied in school
