Cant express how "On Courage" @juliaangwin.com @fieldsmeyer.com read by @maddow.bsky.social resonates. I've tried to find -why- I feel as I do ( @brendankoerner.bsky.social wrote on it for @wired.com rcweb.co/4gpYeWU ). I cried reading what I couldn't express - and was inspired to push harder.

I had the pleasure yesterday meeting with #Syracuse Mayor Sharon Owens . We got to talk about some of the projects I'm working on, and how I could be helpful in the community. Thank you so much for the time, Mayor. Excited to see what develops..

They're stripping #voting rights and planning to put #ICE at polling locations. We need more than signs and protests. Vote Defender is live — a free app for races, candidates, and community-led poll defense. Ready for #midterms #elections. #votingrights #trump rcweb.co/votedefender

How watching Peter Gabriel @witnessorg.bsky.social work shaped my hope to hold #ICE accountable at this moment in time. With everything ratcheting up in #Portland, #Chicago and US wide - it’s important we push back. @jbpritzker.bsky.social doing what they can. We need to step up too.

When i launched #Windbreaker - free #ice resource app for #Chicago if any org or @govpritzker.illinois.gov would take it, folks asked if I would make one for #Portland . Challenge accepted. Any org or @repdexteror.bsky.social or gov want it - just promise to help #Immigrants #Resist #MakeAPlan

RC Concepcion @aboutrc.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

With DOJ pulling #ice apps from the app stores & on a full blitz, I made #Windbreaker - a Chicago version of #deicer app. If you know an org or gov entity @govpritzker.illinois.gov that would want it, I will turn it over for free. Just do -something- #immigrants #KnowYourRights

Yesterday DOJ reached out to Apple and took down DEICER as well as other ICE apps. While disheartened at Apples capitulation, Here's how you can install the app on your phone -without- the app store. It's up to us to protect our rights. #DEICER cc @stevebenen.com @briantylercohen.bsky.social

We have to setup a mobilized national movement to try to push back. That’s what I’m hoping to do #ice #knowyourrights #deicer

Meeting Your Heroes 🧵 I’m not naïve enough to think creating a community resource for immigrant rights & #ICE notifications won’t come without consequences. Every morning I stretch my hamstrings in case I’m thrown in some Gulag for trying.

When watching the #Ice arrests at the Home Depot from a Penske truck - all I could think of was “ what if we were able to help them 20 minutes prior?” We need to setup a coordinated nationwide movement of observers watching and folks going into communities to let them know we’re out to help. Imagine if we got millions of folks out there to be the eyes and ears for a community that can't. That's what I hope to do. To have one less person affected. Help me start to resist. #deicer #ice #knowyourrights

When school starts, our students may be impacted by #ICE activity. Some universities formed mutual defense compacts — I wanted to help. DEICER now lets you search your campus for rights info + alerts (h/t @maddow.msnbc.com – your episode led me to this part) deicer.org

RC Concepcion @aboutrc.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

My biggest hope is that we get a coordinated mobilized effort similar to the #nokings #Immigrants #Protest . With all of the #ICE increases. We do have power. We just need to come together.

Ha sido un camino largo, pero #DEICER por fin está disponible en iOS y Android. Una app de #derechosmigrantes, con notificaciones sobre #ICE y recursos para mantener a nuestra gente segura. Queria compartirlo y pedirte que lo pases.

RC Concepcion @aboutrc.bsky.social · 28/07/2025

Its been a long road. But #DEICER is finally out on iOS and Android. An #immigrant rights app, #ice notifier, and resources to keep people safe. Just wanted to share and ask that you pass it on. Thx to @maddow.msnbc.com @jbpritzker.bsky.social and all of those motivating us to #resist

With DEICER now on the Google Play store and soon iOS, I also wanted to make sure folks had access to it without having to register in a store. Can have all of the benefits of #ICE activity and #Immigrant resources without sharing more info.

Made a 60 second explainer of the Protect section of the DEICER website - the AI translation from English voice to spanish text and pre-made buttons. Even got my @govpritzker.illinois.gov sticker in there. #Immigrants should know their rights w #ICE. Pass it on.
