Traveling without my emotional support last-mile bike today and feeling very naked. At least I have the helmet, but it's not the same.
An orange helmet clipped to a blue backpack. Both are settled between a pair of denim-clad legs, on a speckled (subway car) floor

Is @nitachicago.bsky.social planning to implement fair-capping? Someone remind me. Bc I forgot to buy a Cta day-pass and now I'm annoyed. If you could buy in advance & choose to use it when you wanted that'd be fine, but you can't bc they auto-activate the next time you tap after purchase

Nothing like ~30 people (more behind me) walking in a four-lane street (bc no sidewalks) to the next bus stop after their bus broke down. At least the NB 6s were bunched and the next driver waited for us!

I. Love. Rain gear. Head to toe. Dry through the pour, the car splash, the clogged-drain street flooding.
A person (me!) lifting their leg to show that they are wearing rain boots, rain pants, and a rain coat, with an orange helmet over the hood. All the gear is wet, and the person is smiling

Biker hit on Lake Park Park just north of 51st -- bike is in the median with bent rear wheel, but biker not on site anymore. CPD caution taping off the area, mentioned blood on the ground. Cops say biker taken to UChicago hospital, probably in the last ~30 mins. Idk any other details.

Do we think if I call the cops and say there are a lot of cars parked on the grass in front of the sign that says "no parking on walks and lawns violators will be ticketed and towed" that the cops will come ticket themselves? Anyway, fyi there's a cop takeover at the Point tonight

I hope cities like #Zürich who are just starting to build bikeways follow Copenhagen's lead and plan bike spaces scaled for future demand. This one gives 2/3 of the space to people riding and walking and 1/3 to drivers. There's 20 people biking or walking for each car on this bridge.
A wide concrete bridge over train tracks. On the left there is one lane in each direction for cars and trucks, then a barrier. On the right are biking lanes in each direction - both wider than either of the car lanes - and then an ample sidewalk before the far right has countless bike parking spots. Two cars are on the bridge. Roughly 40 people are walking or biking on the bridge.
