I really miss the Wishbone plushie I had as a child. That book-reading dog is what got me into classical literature, reading in general, and even introduced me to poetry besides Dr Seuss for the first time. I slept with him every single night for years. 😔

City folk looking at a house in the middle of nowhere: why does this cost so much there's nothing here?! Country folk looking at a loft in the middle of town: why does this cost so much it's in the middle of all this mess?! Ngl I'm the first one. Too social to endure true rural life.

"I love you so damn much, I’ll even start to pray. I’ll put my faith in all your bullshit, if it means you’ll stay." Tried it. Don't recommend it. Not a poem, but lyrics to Every Day is a Struggle by Senses Fail. I never stopped vibing to them, but they are certainly the mood for me lately.

"LISTEN TO ME: THE MOST HOLY DAY OF THE TRANSSEXUAL CALENDAR IS A MASS FUNERAL." This is the urgency I devour in writing. This is trans rage exemplified. This is the tone the world forced on us. These are the words our people scream into the wind. This is beautifully urgent work.

"The truth is that I do not think I am ready, at all, to die. Not that it matters." Beautiful existentialism. Is it always so delicious when you taste your own philosophy so tastefully, succinctly written? The presentation of this is something I aspire to in my own work. Not that it matters. 🖤

You cannot reform a disease. Either you kill it, or it will kill you. You either carve it out completely and incinerate it, or any part of it left behind will spread again. Allowing it to stay endangers everybody. There is no possibility of reform. Abolition and prosecution is the bare minimum.

New poem is live today. 🖤 The poem is a burning haibun, a form created by @tagreathouse.bsky.social , and I anxiously hope I've done it justice. "Purgatory Ablaze" is deeply personal, exploring queer religious trauma. So incredibly proud to be part of this publication. trans-rag.com#ravenheart

"A room of poets; a packet of seeds." Reading "A Pack of Seeds" by Ori Diskett. The ideas presented feel like putting words to the unnamed. I imagine most poets worry about what we take from other poets, but this piece finds a beautiful view of that process. eyetothetelescope.com/archives/056...

I feel like "canine" is an unmistakable part of my gender. The feelings of being at my most feminine are often overlapping with pup play. The first photo I ever took of myself and didn't hate involved a pup hood. I look at myself and I see "dog, but girl." Not sure if that's relatable. 😅

It's hard for me to put a score on this year. On one hand, completely awful year as a trans person living in the US. Economically and socially toxic. One the other, met my two partners, came out at work, got 8 poems published, won an award for poetry, and finally feel like I'm finding community.

I still remember the first dress I ever wore. I would give anything to see it again, to hold it, to just remember how much it meant to me then. I've never seen another one exactly like it. The style is probably a little dated now (it was 30 years ago). But I remember the dress clear as day, forever.

I'm disgusted that hatred against polyamory has hit the point of being trendy. Similar to how trans identity has been weaponized, visibility without protection is dangerous. I would think, unfortunately, that legal protections are unlikely under existing laws due to a historical hated of polygamy.
