this poem is my touchpoint for what kind of courage can be shared through radio -- it's from the 50s or 60s but is stunningly modern I think for some of the people on here this is what they're here to do; and that's good. but it's no substitute for actual work

The news would pour out of various devices
Interrupted by attempts to sell products to the unseen.
I would call my friends on other devices;
They would be more or less mad for similar reasons.
Slowly I would get to pen and paper,
Make my poems for others unseen and unborn.
In the day I would be reminded of those men and women,
Brave, setting up signals across vast distances,
Considering a nameless way of living, of almost unimagined values.
As the lights darkened, as the lights of night brightened,
We would try to imagine them, try to find each other,
To construct peace, to make love, to reconcile
Waking with sleeping, ourselves with each other,
Ourselves with ourselves.

I'm not sure any platform where all the messages are public can be used for organizing even here -- we all left twitter for the same reason which is something. the vibes here are not awful, and there are people to learn from, but it's not a substitute for talking and planning up close and privately

but through the power of AI it coudl be?

yes to 'guiding every turn'. I don't understand how people are getting good results from fully headless mode. (except in areas where they hyper parallelize to solve a hard problem and then clean up the output once they have anything usable; but I don't have that budget)

I believe that word is 'salt'. as an archaeologist from the future my understanding is that the 'professor' in this anecdote was asserting political independence with the use of salt, which shares a latin root with 'salary'. professors at this time in history were largely unpaid
