The 21st century has seen an incredible number of inspiring people’s uprisings — Ukraine, Georgia, HK etc — that were greeted with indifference or hostility by westerners who claim to be revolutionaries. Rather than try to learn from them, they chose instead to believe authoritarian govt propaganda.

Tai Chang, which backs on to the Myanmar-Thailand border, has been linked to incidents of torture. "I'm not safe, I'm chatting with you secretly," they said. Despite the risk, their first request wasn't to be rescued.
