I keep bouncing between spreadsheets and code and noticing a weird gap. Excel/GSheets are great to poke around in, but if you want to iterate in code you need to import/export, it's clumsy.

Got my first citation. Good to see my name in someone else’s Related Work. Been working on eventual consistency and BFT, so getting cited in a games paper — FlockJS: A Browser-Native Game Engine Integrating WebGPU and Peer-to-Peer Networking — hits different. Full-circle moment.

“Sybil attack” comes from a 70s book about a woman diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. Sybil was a pseudonym of the women said to have 16 distinct personalities.

Acabamos mais uma sessão de oficinas de introdução à programação aos mais novos. Neste grupo eram miúdos na casa dos 11. É muito gratificante ver a aptidão deles. São um espetáculo.

TIL: If your VPN server and local network share the same subnet (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24), routing breaks. Do yourself a favor always change the default subnet on new home routers.

openrouter.ai lets you swap models on the backend with a variable change. Useful for switching around LLMs on the fly before you lock in on self-hosting or a particular one.

Pure asynchrony is like a Schrödinger network — you don’t know who’s alive, who’s dead, and everyone still has to agree on something.

As AI and AI-UX continues to evolve, I sense there will be a movement towards local-first apps. MCP has already led me to adopt more local tools — shifting from Google Docs to Obsidian/Latex for faster, more dynamic document access.

I'm rarely excited about hyped up features related to LLMs: but MCP is one of those things where it's a glimpse of the future of how dev tools and IDEs will work. Even if the current security issues mean you probably should be *very* careful in using it!

The timed announcements of 3 tokens for strategic reserves and later of 2 others, previously not mentioned but obvious candidates, surely made several people rich if they were in the know. Plenty of time to buy SOL, sell SOL, buy ETH.

If you can. Choose differently. (Not a possibility for everyone) - Use Linux instead of Windows/MacOS. - Stop using Alphabet/Google, Meta, Microsoft etc. platforms as much as you possibly can. - Build on OpenSource platforms. - Learn how to self-host instead of using cloud. Prepare yourself.
