Is today the day I quit the Zuckerberg doomscrolling machine? Maybe, since apparently it no longer likes my login. Is any social media worth it these days? Who knows? :theshadow:

WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, I"VE GOT A PAW IN MY EAR. #SiameseCat #cats

Photograph of two Siamese cats sleeping together. The one on the right is darker colored and larger; curled with head and feet pointing to the left. The lighter one on the left is curled the opposite way, with their head on top of the other's dark feet, and their back foot on top of the dark one's head, right by it's ear.

Reclaim the internet for it's original purpose: #cats And #kindness.

Cat photograph. A lilac point Siamese cat is sleeping stretched out on a tan carpeted cat bed. The cat is facing you with it's eyes closed and a smile. They are stretched out with legs off to the left of photo, and the tail is lazily curled off to the right of the photo. The cat's name was Pálinka.

#DrSeuss was such an interesting wit. I never actually considered until today that the Cat never actually gets In The Hat - which is the more obvious meaning of the words. Brilliant.

Cartoon image from the book The Cat In The Hat: on a blue background, there's a black outline of a smiling mischevous cat, wearing a red bow-tie and the epynonimous white-and-red striped top hat.

My grandfather volunteered to fight the original N*zis at Bastogne, and lost a wrist and a small part of his soul in combat, fighting to protect truth and freedom. Please, let's not have to do that again. 😢

Formal black and white photograph of a man in uniform.
The man is facing the camera, with short dark hair, prominent ears and nose, and dark eyes. He is wearing a West Point Military Academy cadet's uniform, which is gray with a high collar, and several lines of plain buttons across the front. There is no rank other than Cadet.

A big question at #OpenForumAcademy: how can researchers around #OpenSource better work with projects - and how can communities potentially benefit from research papers? The first step is building a university OSPO, or a foundation research page. We have one at the ASF!

#OpenForumAcademy hitting (one of) the nails around #funding in #OpenSource #Sustainability. The Open@RIT program did amazing work taking academic grants to use them to holistically help FOSS projects. But when they asked for more funding, grantors simply say "we don't do grants that way".

Photo of a slide projected on a screen, titled "The Last Conceptual Mismatch", where the key quote is:

"We're not set up to fund programs like that. We only provide direct financial support for individual projects." [just because that's how we've always done it]
