I really wish Mark Fisher was alive for the Western Mass lesbian bar story 😭

Had to hold off until it was official, but as of today, I am a WGA West member. Probably the proudest moment of my professional career.

Had a couple of incidents like this and I am not Abdul El Sayed, just an FYI. I wish I could be as successful and handsome however.

Dropping out of university and eventually finding my way into a screenwriting career was, in retrospect, a pretty good choice. I would also not recommend anyone ever do the same thing.

For @typebarmagazine.bsky.social, I wrote about how trying to play nice with the modern concept of "fandom" is ruining the greatest card game that's ever existed www.typebarmagazine.com/the-fandom-s...

If I had a nickel for every major tv show in 2026 where someone loses a toe on their wedding day, id have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice

Five years of screenwriting full-time, and today, my third feature goes into production -- probably the most personal thing I've ever written, and as far as I'm concerned, maybe the best. Big love to the whole team as they go shoot the thing and make it better than whatever I could put on a page.

Frederick Wiseman was one of the only true documentarians. A scope and an obsession and an intricate rigor and articulating the mechanisms of culture and society in ways that would make a lesser filmmaker shit their pants. An absolute titan. Rest in peace.

Yearly family day LOTR rewatch and one thing I'm struck by on viewing god-knows-how-many-times is how, in a series where everyones committed to the bit, Bernard Hill still somehow puts the whole thing on his back in terms of pure sincerity. These movies would break with another actor in that role.

Every single winter Olympics we get really into figure skating but it truly feels like we're chasing the dragon of virtue/moir in Pyeongchang. Still probably the single horniest thing I've seen this side of In the Mood for Love. Two Olympics later and nothing has come close

After the last 2 days, I'm confidently convinced Eddington is perhaps the movie key to diagnosing the decade, if not the whole 21st century. An inverse Fukuyama, a piece of fiction that articulates a stronger truth: History does not end, it continues ceaselessly in increasingly stupid ways.

Testament to spike lee that highest 2 lowest is by no means a top five film in his oeuvre but has like four sayings that could be considered a top five scene of his career as a director. There's one in particular I paused and rewatched like four times
