Synopsis The Clock family consists of three four-inch-tall people who live incognito among humans, borrowing only what they need to survive. Their quiet life changes when their teenage daughter, Arrietty, is discovered. Review The anime powerhouse that is Studio Ghibli have given us many classics over the years, some of which have been wonderfully restored in 4K and rereleased into cinemas. Behemoth! (dir. Tony Gilroy) Behemoth tries to tackle a lot all at once. Though some aspects succeed where others fall short, there’s no denying that the emotional pay off in the end is worth it. It’s layered, investing and musical rhythmic in execution. #LFF

Being Heumann (dir. Sian Heder) Sian Heder strikes again with another certified crowd pleaser. It’s a straightforward but emotional retelling of Judy Heumann’s fight for disabled rights. The cast, especially Ruth Madeley, all give powerful performances that bring everything full circle. #LFF

WILDWOOD (2026) Review
Wildwood is currently playing as part of the BFI London Film Festival and will be released in UK cinemas on October 23, 2026. Synopsis After a murder of crows abducts her baby brother, headstrong teenager Prue McKeel launches a desperate rescue mission into an enchanted forest hidden just beyond Portland. RAY GUNN (2026) Review
Ray Gunn is currently playing as part of the BFI London Film Festival and will stream exclusively on Netflix from December 18, 2026. Synopsis In Metropia, a gigantic city in an alternate future as seen from 1939, private eye Raymond Gunn is drawn into a case involving aliens, murder and a multimedia star named Venus Nova. Review For 30 years, Brad Bird has been trying to get his passion project, Ray Gunn, into motion but has always fallen short for one reason or another. Now, in the year 2026 he has finally managed to get the idea out into the world and, for the most part, it doesn’t disappoint.

Primetime (dir. Lance Oppenheim) Equal parts unnerving as it is genuinely captivating, Lance Oppenheim pulls out all the stops to deliver a demented, fever dream-like exploration of one of TVs most controversial show, all while Pattinson gives a career best performance from start to finish. #LFF

Wildwood (dir. Travis Knight) This film is nothing short of astonishing. The characters and world feel so fleshed out and alive while the animation itself pushes the boundaries of what most would think stop motion is capable of. Easily one of the year’s best films by a country mile. #LFF

Bunker (dir. Florian Zeller) Though it’s better than Zeller’s last film, The Son, Bunker is still a bit of a mixed bag. Despite some strong performances and a jarring sequence in the third act, this is a film that tries to say a lot but not much at the same time. #LFF

Ray Gunn (dir. Brad Bird) Despite taking a second to find its footing, once it gets into a groove it’s an absolute blast to watch. It’s full of fun characters, inventive set pieces, colourful animation and a refreshing sense of humour that keeps it engaging throughout. #LFF

Masc (dir. Bertil Nilsson) A range of emotions were felt from this one and I mean that positively. Seeing autism portrayed in such a raw manner within drama is a rarity and Masc does so with a refreshing sense of honesty. To those on the spectrum, this will be a life-affirming watch. #LFF

Heysel 85 (dir. Teodora Ana Mihai) This was close to being great. The archival footage and 16mm cinematography helps ground the film in reality as the chaos unfolds, but showing it from a “behind the scenes” perspective sadly creates a slight emotional disconnect from the tragedy itself. #LFF

Aaron takes a deep dive into the world of Zach Cregger's incredible new Resident Evil, playing in cinemas globally now.
getyourcomicon.co.uk
Why RESIDENT EVIL (2026) is The Perfect Video Game Adaptation
Spoilers ahead for Resident Evil (2026) The Resident Evil franchise has had its fair share of misfires on the big screen, not through lack of trying. However, where the previous entries faltered, this new film from Weapons director Zach Cregger seems to right the wrongs of the past by delivering a tense, blood-soaked thrill ride that genuinely feels like a love letter to the games that came before. Adapting video games into feature-length films has always been an uphill struggle for filmmakers and studios. Trying to walk that fine line between what to take from the source material and what new ideas can be introduced is where most video game movies usually fall short, regardless of how much or how little they make at the box office.

Today is 20 years since the pilot episode of Heroes. In celebration Aaron is taking a look back at the series incredible legacy and its fandom.
getyourcomicon.co.uk
HEROES 20 Years On: A Show Ahead of Its Time
In 2006, a show seemingly came out of nowhere to take the world by storm, rivalling heavyweights at the time, such as Lost and 24. Created by showrunner Tim Kring, Heroes became an immediate worldwide phenomenon upon its release and maintained its success throughout its gripping first season. Back then, the line 'Save the cheerleader. Save the world' was inescapable, and you had this show to thank for it. Despite it still being an enjoyable watch across its four-season run, issues outside of Kring's control, ranging from writers' strikes to network interference, gradually chipped away at the show's overall quality, turning this once-popular show into a partially forgotten cult series.

With Jackass: Best and Last currently making audiences laugh and gag in cinemas for the last time, it only seemed fair to take a trip down memory lane and look back at the legacy of stupidity Johnny Knoxville and co. have left behind for the past 25 years, with a list of the best stunts they've ever put to screen. For context, this list only accounts for stunts from the five theatrically released films, which means anything from the original TV show or the .5 films, despite how funny they may be, won't be included here.

The line between modern and traditional values, especially in some European, Asian, or Middle Eastern countries, has sparked debate for years among those who live in these regions. Several films, such as Flee, Mustang, and Persepolis, have previously looked at similar themes specifically from a woman’s perspective, and now Dina Duma’s Skateboarding Is Not for Girls is another fascinating entry to that already great list.
