This year's game awards really cemented that the industry is still capable of producing unique games like Okami and Ico team's titles along with celebrating Astro bot. Really felt the light this year.

I've watched a weirdly large amount of Tears of the Kingdom retrospectives in the last year and almost all of them boil down to a thesis of "flawed masterpiece" and sometimes I wonder if the game was doomed from the start trying to replicate BOTW instead of just being its own thing.

Rewatched Sonic 1 last night since I haven’t seen it since it came out and it’s surprisingly better than I remember. All the quips are well timed, casting is great, sonics design works really well for live action, and Carrey kills it as robotnik.
