I've been thinking a lot about Ocarina of Time remake and keep approaching it from different perspectives. But I keep returning to a single thought. aaronw5.com/thoughts/you...

You Cannot Remake Ocarina Of Time

We can continuously redefine games, but we can never truly recreate their origin.

This has been the best E3 season post pandemic. Genuinely feels like the industry has gotten to a point of recovery, even if a lot of it is remake centric.

Been working on a new personal website for the past couple months. Want to get into writing contemporary thoughts about stuff I'm playing or things I see in games media. Maybe even retrospective content. Starting with a fatigue I've been feeling lately: aaronw5.com/thoughts/the...

Old art, but never uploaded the colored version on the other site. Belated third anniversary for Xenoblade 3 lol.

This message applies to everyone, but especially young men: If you're struggling, don't bottle it up. Call a friend. Ask for help. Go to therapy. Don't be ashamed. Give the people in your life a chance to share with YOU how much they love you instead of saying it at your funeral when it's too late.

Happy 10th Splatoon. Here’s some pictures from launch day and the first splatfest ever held.

Nintendo has cancelled the Switch 2 in response to preorder frenzy. "Your vulgar appetites betray you," said company president Furukawa, "That you are a people without grace. We will await a new era." At press time, Nintendo's headquarters in Kyoto and Redmond had vanished from the face of earth.

Thought the MKWorld direct was a very nothing burger of a show, but the spawning of more price debates after it after it had just started to die down is wearing on me lol.

Very ready for Switch 2 to release so everyday doesn't have to be a debate about price before we even have hands on impressions of full games.

Made a graphic looking at Switch 2's first party lineup so far this year. So much to look forward to.

Most wanted that I expect to happen, probably Animal Crossing.

End of an era. Don't expect half or even most of these, but I honestly have no idea what they could show lol.

Best part about new console reveals is that literally everything is back on the table again, such an exciting period to be a Nintendo fan.

OOT's Water Temple is legitimately great. I think it has some of the best atmosphere in the series, and the only flaw I think it has is the constant menuing really.

Maybe Side Order since it just had its one year anniversary. Don't know if that would count as a new game though since 3 is already on there.

Has one of my favorite Pokemon postgames ever too. Pulling a full fight against Volo whose team mimics Cynthia's, then making you fight Giratina immediately after with no heals is legit difficult if you're not prepared.

Still the coolest cameo from Legends Arceus, hope we get more like it in ZA.

Haven’t listened to Octopath 2’s ost yet so I can’t agree or disagree either way, but it’s Xenoblade 3 for me. Absolutely beautiful soundtrack.

This year's game awards really cemented that the industry is still capable of producing unique games like Okami and Ico team's titles along with celebrating Astro bot. Really felt the light this year.

I've watched a weirdly large amount of Tears of the Kingdom retrospectives in the last year and almost all of them boil down to a thesis of "flawed masterpiece" and sometimes I wonder if the game was doomed from the start trying to replicate BOTW instead of just being its own thing.

Rewatched Sonic 1 last night since I haven’t seen it since it came out and it’s surprisingly better than I remember. All the quips are well timed, casting is great, sonics design works really well for live action, and Carrey kills it as robotnik.
