An Aha moment precedes the strategic response to a visuomotor rotation
Townsend et al. discover that strategic compensation for a sensorimotor perturbation emerges from an “Aha!” moment, producing a discrete jump to (approximately) the right solution. They demonstrate, through computational modeling, that this offers a better account of participant behavior than gradual error minimization or trial-and-error learning.

Both change when moving. Prediction would not drive reweighting, but is one possible signal that can be upweighted. But in passive movement somatosensation may be upweighted (or at least unweighted, www.eneuro.org/content/11/9... ), so it is interesting to see it downweighted in active movement

I think there are 2 different things being conflated here: sensory reweighting (where the brain changes how much it listens to any given feedback source at a given time) and sensory cancelation (where the brain discounts the sensation caused by actively moving)

The basal ganglia output is often framed as a motor gate: corticostriatal circuits select an action, then GPi/SNr-thalamus helps release it. In humans, we find this same pathway carries cognitive variables embedded in movement signals—and even produces learning-relevant signals after feedback. 1/10

It's a bit complicated. Saccadic suppression is about what you perceive (e.g., you'd get sick if you saw the world shift that much). But you still process the information during a saccade, it just isn't entirely correct (e.g., time reversals and spatial compression toward the endpoint)
