I feel like we have this conversation every six months. Reference is not cheating, never will be! 👏 Digital art is also not cheating! Line stabilizers are also not cheating! What else did I miss?

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

When tech bros are like “shit was bad before ai, it doesn’t matter” like cool, so your logic is “let’s pour gasoline on this existing fire! Sure it was already on fire, who cares?” 🫠

AI tries to solves a problem no one asked for it to solve. “Tired of your creative job and raising your children? Let genAi do it so you can focus on life’s real joys: grunt work.” AI is its own worst enemy when it comes to public image ‘cos you have these gobshites outsourcing humanity.

110

Tara O’Connor @taraocomics.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Yep like yeah we get it you don’t know how digital artists work 🫠

010

Tara O’Connor @taraocomics.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

AI bros don't know how to use photoshop and also don't know adobe has been on most artist's shit lists for a while now as well. If you're gonna fake being an artist at least catch up on the lore ffs.

Wait so yall cool with Photoshop but not Al? They said clearly having no idea how photoshop works lol

Posted this example of my roughs in my Instagram stories and it’s clear if there’s one thing people HATE, it’s what you do with your own books. 👀

I’ve been doing thumbs in this book I’m adapting
Text reads I wouldn't normally advocate writing in books but because of the format of this book there's space for roughs.
Getting to draw it on the same pages as the actual words really grounds me

Also really helpful to work on the go or when
I'm nap trapped by the girl

Strangers response to me drawing in a book I’ve purchased and am in the process of adapting: JAIL

The author responding to me with I love that you're drawing directly inside the book!!!

Please remember that for every VE Schwab and Stephen King, there are a lot of banned Black, queer, and POC writers you've never heard of, to whom it is maybe not a badge of honor but a denial of their voice. Being banned is not a marketing opportunity, unless one is already rich.

Here's the only AI trick you'll ever need. I used it to make my profile pic, but it works for any project. Just follow these two simple steps: 1. Identified an artist whose style I wanted to replicate. 2. Actually PAY THE ARTIST to actually draw a portrait. Nobody needs generative AI. (1/X)
