Terry doesn’t have much time this year to dress up for Hallowe’en. Last year, one of Terry’s minders was incapacitated with a back injury and standing at a table making plasticine outfits was a great way to keep moving. We’ll recycle some of Terry’s greatest hits over the coming month.

It’s 2026. House prices are 8 times the average wage. Petrol is 158.95p per litre. Terry Ennui’s job has been replaced by AI. Cars don’t fly and we didn’t get to the Mars, in fact, we’ve only just been back to the moon. Terry tries not to think about the future too much.

It’s 1976. House prices are 4 times the average wage. Petrol is 17p per litre. Gerry Ennui, Terry’s dad, has a good job as a programmer. He’s in the union. He’s got a tidy little modern house and hope for the future. When his kid is his age, people will live on mars and cars will fly.
