I had to miss the #nokings protests because I was in Brazil at the SBI congress. Fantastic speakers and poster sessions, and dancing! Saw old friends and made new ones. It gives me hope to see how well Brazilian science is doing after their own wannabe king interlude.

I met one of my heroes! Our trainees invited @elisabethbik.bsky.social as a keynote speaker for OHSU research week. Great talk about her career as a science fraud investigator, with a very thoughtful ending on paper mills, AI generated content, and the future of publishing. Thank you Dr. Bik!

The lab turned 5 years old, hard to believe! What better excuse to have a party with current and former lab members! I have been very fortunate to work with wonderful people. The baker of our pie possibly had an other kind of anniversary in mind when they did the decoration, but I think it fits 😀❤️
