If your event website asks people for RSVPs, clicking the RSVP button should allow visitors to enter a variety of appropriate responses to an invitation, not lock them in as a yes. Allowing invitees to send regrets is a baseline functionality that lets hosts know if their invites went out at all.

I've recommended Dennis E. Taylor's Bobiverse series of funny engineering sci-fi novels for years, but the final few chapters of his newly-released sixth book in the series has cemented for me that this is a must-read for anyone with a similar sense of humor to mine. i think that shows like Yogi Bear and Rocky & Bullwinkle, cartoon shorts like Gerald McBoingBoing, even something like Dexter's Laboratory, the blueprint is there for economical animation that really small or single-person teams can produce. Those techniques were invented for a reason!

i'm not 100% joking either. these group project pilots where everyone passes the same $20 back and forth is just not sustainable. it's nice to have a good looking pilot, but i'd rather adopt 60's Hanna Barbera practices and actually make shows, shows that don't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars

I just rewatched the 1986 Highlander movie and I have a very strong suspicion that Tommy Wiseau both learned both how to chuckle and how to pace English sentences from this film. But don’t take my word for it! Re-watch it yourself and let me know.

Anyone here good at draining tofu? My kid wants to try more dinners without meat, so I'm pressing tofu for the first time for a marinade. After 10 minutes under a cast iron pan, can I jump straight to pressing it with a cast iron dutch oven, or should I add weight (soda cans?) to the pan first?
