In about an hour, I'll be chatting movies and TV with Marty and @darrenmooney.bsky.social. I liked Digger but understand why all y'all didn't. I... mostly... liked Lanterns but don't understand all the hate. !.... bet you didn't realize that was an exclamation point. Watch/Listen Here:

I would disagree with pulling their punches.

Not necessarily... but it's worth a watch in general.

Jack Packard @jackpackard.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I think any critisism of "Digger" (2026) is valid and understandable. But, gosh darn it, I love a weirdo movie with a big message and tiny fake airplanes!!!

I really liked Lanterns. Great story, good character arcs, quality acting. I would have loved a little more action and also… apparently we need to keep tapping this sign!!!

back in the day if u did a tv show called surf dracula you'd see that fool surfing every week in new adventures but in the streaming era the entire 1st season gotta be a long ass flashback to how he got the surfboard until you finally get to see him surf for 5 min in the finale

Well to complete the joke, you need to create a monster that everyone in town thinks is a joke. Your party then ignores it. You find a way for them to come back later and realize that it was a huge problem.

You know that shitty beat that plays after AI edited slop shorts? We've all doom-scrolled and heard it... Did you know that that beat has it's own genre?! "Drift Phonk", which is a sub-genre of "phonk".... 2 real genres! Part of the joys & terrors of having teenagers is learning things like this.

Part of the problem is me specifically. I have the books, I've read the books.... but I still don't get it. I want to watch someone else do a thing and I can't seem to find anyone DOING the thing. I also can't go into more details as I don't want to call out creators.

I think Resident Evil (2026) is dumb, silly, and full of videogame logic. (complimentary) Overall, I liked it but it does biff something so bad that that biff is all I'm thinking about. So I give it a resounding "meh".

Part of me is sad that this story arc is ending, but I'm also immensely grateful that it was able to reach an actual conclusion after The Escapist's demise. Even having never watched any D&D-based stories before, I cannot recommend this series enough. Easily one of the best things on YouTube.

Frankly it’s mostly patience. It’s a ridiculously long game with a lot of fiddly rules and interactions. Don’t be afraid to look up stuff and use the occasional save-scumm. It’s not a game for everyone, but (in my opinion) totally worth the time.
