Fresh out from @lisakreimer.bsky.social 🧪🥳🧪 We show that phosphanlyidene fragments, [NHC-P], effectively tune the absorption properties of aromatic hydrocarbons. Some beautiful, colourful chemistry 🌈 Congrats Lisa! Find it here: t.ly/8FL73
In the centre of the image is the general structure of phosphanylidene-substituted aromatic hydrocarbons. Above, the colours associated with the size of the aromatic linker are depicted, with specific details given below in text.

Our latest and last paper from Annika's PhD 🥲 We've accessed a range of open-shell Ge(II)-TM(I) complexes, and taken a deep-dive into their electronic structure. The spin-orbit coupling/spin-polarisation combo makes these pretty neat 🤓 Check it: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

The latest from the team, and the first for (Bluesky-less) Emeric Schubert 🥳 He uncovered unexpected Ge-H reactivity in the coordination sphere of Ni: dehydrocoupling of Ge-H w/ Si-H bonds, and some neat cycloaddition chem! 🧪 Very cool. Find it here: tinyurl.com/4jbwh62e

Another one hot off the press 🧪 We demonstrate a simple route to half-parent vinyl tetrylenes (aka ethenyl tetrylenes), using off-the-shelf Grignards The second to last piece from Annika's PhD, now ready for your viewing pleasure in Inorganic Chemistry @acs.org 🤓 tinyurl.com/mre8bybx
The image depicts a general structure of the reported vinyl tetrylenes, where E = Ge, Sn, or Pb. Additional coloured text highlights aspects of the work: that these stable vinyl tetrylenes are accessed, that they can undergo vinyl group elimination to form cations, and that their transition metal coordination chemistry is also reported here.
