Oh I definitely agree that the Action Rolls and Moves are very different. I just wanted to point out how they vary from roll to hit/feed/shoot seen in other systems. The Bakers have an excellent series of blogposts but an 8 minute video is easier to digest. lumpley.games/2019/12/30/p...

to my mind, the core of pbta is not "2d6+stat with mixed successes", it's the system of "when x trigger happens in the fiction, apply y specific mechanic". Codified, genre specific moves are its main innovation. If you think pbta is just 2d6+stat with varied levels of success, you missed the point

I think this video does a good job of explaining why BITD/PBTA isn't a "task based" resolution system like DnD/WoD/CoC etc. A Move doesn't just decide "pass/fail/mixed success", it resolves & changes the entire fiction/conflict based on triggers, distinct from your examples. youtu.be/OAl85kYCWro?...

I had a lot of fun working on this project. It was done purely for the love of the game! It had ads nor sponsored posts. And I also didn't pay for leaks, tips or intel, instead contributors were given credit under a cool codename based on the Tarot! And I dedicate the final issue to them!
