I think taking kitchen sink fantasy as-is and slapping it into a new setting is inherently anachronistic and doesn't even work as a "gimmick." To approach fantasy in a unique setting you have to approach fantasy in a unique way. This is what separates a good setting from an annoying one.

On my latest video there is a non-insignificant amount of trans women who are using the video as proof that we (the people who enjoy the games) are traumatized losers who need to seek therapy. This is the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard and is deeply dehumanizing.

My gf has this cool worldbuilding project that's all about bug-bio-mechs and part of it has been creating a new poetic form, which is, simply explained, 6-word poems. Pilots name their mechs like this but also do it to flex. So we've been writing a few of those. Here are my favorites:
