Every boy and young man watching AEW’s tribute to Pac saw men openly grieve, love, and support each other. That matters.

Thank you for giving us a space to grieve along with you, and to share in honouring the person PAC was. Thank you for all you do, everyday. This isn't just professional wrestling, and it means so much to so many of us. I hope you all felt the love and support we held for you all last night.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

Every time a discourse kicks off over whether AI music, literature or art will be "as good as" the real thing, I'm always amazed more people don't cite that **there already are** creative pursuits where human-free spectacles have been available for decades, and nobody has ever wanted to watch them.

I always ask if people think hearing a digital piano programmed to play a concerto is the same as hearing my dad — who’s been playing for 79 years and still practices hours a day — do it. And funnily enough no one has ever agreed that it is.

Komander posted on Instagram that one thing he’s taking away from last night is that the way he’s tried to live his life, being kind to others and working hard to perfect his craft has a reward that’s more important than money or stardom. He feels inspired by PAC in yet another way.

Dynamite was a fantastic tribute and while looking for a pic to sum it up, I found these old edits somebody made of PAC back in early AEW. After seeing the tribute show, I feel like the person who made these somehow captured both the silly side of him off the camera and the bastard on it.

As tough of a watch as the Pac show was, I actually really enjoyed seeing all the wrestlers be sweet to each other before being like "alright now let's put on a show and beat the hell out of each other." That is actually my most preferred wrestling vibe.

An underestimated part of Pac's legacy. The UK indie scene of the early to mid-2000s was great, but it was often hard for UK wrestlers to get recognized internationally. Even when they did, it was for working that "World of Sport" style. Pac broke that mold. #AEW #AEWDynamite #WrestleSky

AEW has unfortunately been put in the position to memorialize a fallen wrestler many times. They do it with a full and honest embrace of grief and loss of the real human being, not just the wrestler. I'm thankful for the care and space they give the roster and the fans to mourn.
