57E @57e.bsky.social · 30/09/2026A lot of old isometric games that tried to avoid needing to have sprites for all eight directions. Some games with only four directions had player move top right when pressing UP. So This is a way around that issue. I do however recall U7 being point and click, maybe the style carried over from 6? 100
57E @57e.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Easy. You only need two different sets of sprites to cover all four movement directions. And using cabinet projection makes those four directions diagonal thus lining them up with the arrow keys. If they used isometric projection then all movement would be non diagonal. And you do NOT want that. 100
