Massachusetts will restrict the sale of kratom products to protect young people and residents. We support the State's action, and we will do our part to ensure compliance in Boston and help people impacted by these products find the support they need. boston.gov/kratom
Heading: Massachusetts Restricts Sale of Kratom. Body: Kratom products are dangerous because they are unregulated and have a wide range of harmful effects. They often use unsupported health claims to cruelly target people—especially young people—who are seeking help for pain, anxiety, and depression, yet can instead expose them to psychosis, seizures, physical dependence, withdrawal, and an increased risk of overdose and death. Website: boston.gov/kratom. This image also has a graphic of kratom and a bill and the Boston Public Health Commission logo. Heading: How to get help for Kratom. Date: August 14, 2026. If a Boston resident is looking for help to stop using kratom products, call 311 and get connected with the Boston Public Health Commission’s PAATHS program for referral to treatment. If someone is unresponsive, call 911 immediately. Website: boston.gov/kratom. This image also has a graphic of kratom and a bill and the Boston Public Health Commission logo.
