On Saturday, August 29, the annual Caribbean Carnival will be held with 2 parades. The J'ouvert Parade begins at 6:00 a.m. and the Caribbean Carnival begins at 1:00 p.m. Towing will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday along the Carnival route. Check out the traffic advisory at boston.gov/transportation

The annual Puerto Rican Festival Parade will be held on Sunday, July 26 and will begin on Columbus Avenue at 12 p.m. Parking will be restricted, and road closures are in place along the parade route. Consider using the MBTA or Bluebikes for transportation instead of driving.

We’re monitoring scattered power outages affecting residents across Boston. Eversource crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible. For outage updates or to report an issue text STAT to 23129 or call Eversource at 1-800-592-2000.

☘️ On the day of the parade, all package stores in South Boston will close at 4:00 p.m. and pouring establishments (Sec. 12 licenses) will not admit anyone after 6:30 p.m., alcohol service will end at 7:00 p.m., and all patrons are to be off the premises by 7:30 p.m.
