Under Trump, the U.S. isn’t a country in the traditional sense. It’s the military and financial management arm of the corporate club that's in charge – Musk, Bezos, Thiel, Zuckerberg, etc. That’s why Trump won't regulate AI. He knows corporations regulate the government, not the other way around.

Diesel would still be $6.20/gal today (up from $3.66/gal a year ago) without the Ohio diesel tax, and gas would be 3.84/gal, up from $2.98/gal from a year ago. This is a GOP gimmick that will take money away from other programs resulting in negative impacts on Ohioans.

I talked to some smart people and this is what they think Democratic Party leaders need to be prepared to do with their congressional majority come January if they want to accomplish much of anything: www.salon.com/2026/09/24/the-democr…
• No more cowering from veto threats. Democrats should dare Trump to veto
 popular legislation and make him own the consequences if he does.
 • Demand major concessions from Trump in return for passing a new debt limit and
 a defense spending bill, and shut down the government if necessary.
 • Drive a wedge between Republican legislators and their increasingly unpopular
 and irrational leader.
 • No more protecting "centrist" Democrats from tough votes.
 • Tell the lobbyists to take a hike.
 • Impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for malfeasance.
 • Impeach Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought for violating
 congressional spending directives.
 • Order the Capitol Police to arrest and jail administration officials if they refuse to
 honor congressional subpoenas.

Two dynamics around Senate race worth keeping in mind. First, something @taniel.bsky.social pointed out on Xitter in response to prediction Thomas/Alito would resign if Dems win. If Sherrod Brown and/or Angie Nixon win, they get sworn in right away.
Taniel
@Taniel
This has been a constant source of speculation since late June. Note that, should Dems win Ohio (or in a bigger upset Florida), those would be new senators that’d be sworn in by the lame-duck time there’d be a confirmation vote, complicating math given other factors.
